About Mateo
Mateo Suarez Serna "Teo Suarez" is a Composer, Arranger, Orchestrator and Performer from Bogota, Colombia.
He began playing and performing at the age of three, and has been exposed to art for his entire life, which has helped his vision and development in this field. Mateo was awarded a scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music when he was 20 years old where he earned a double major in Jazz Composition and CWP (Contemporary writing and Production) with a minor in Theory of Jazz and a specialization in Music for TV and Media.
He was featured in many shows, worked as a Vocal Director for one of the biggest Latin Showcases in Boston and had his compositions performed in many productions. Mateo also obtained the knowledge to navigate diverse genres and cultures when needed it. Mateo became certified as a CRLA tutor (College Reading and Learning Association). He worked for three years helping upcoming musicians build a stronger music foundation, and guiding them to have a clear picture of their future in college. This not only helped the students, but also helped Mateo to have a better understanding on how leadership works and how to approach different scenarios and people in order to collaborate with them.
Mateo lives by the motto, "I'm here to shine bright with my own and unique light." The future looks promising for this young artist.
